How we started

 

Just A Cupcake, like most labors of love, started as a hobby and quickly grew into a passion.  Just A Cupcake was started by attorney Jace C. Gatewood and his wife, Jiketha, both avid bakers. Jace and Jiketha began baking many years ago as a creative outlet from the daily grind of corporate america.  Initially, Jace just wanted to bake cakes for his children, baking his first birthday cake more than 15 years ago.  Jiketha has been honing her baking skills for over 20 years, delighting friends and family with her unique recipes.  When Jace and Jiketha met, it was not only a match made in heaven, but it was a match made in the kitchen.  She does all the baking and he does all the decorating.  Together, they quickly discovered that cupcakes had enormous creative potential and began to explore all the possible creations that could be made from a cupcake, creating cupcakes that amazed their family and friends; not just a cupcake, but works of art.   Before they knew it, their family and friends convinced them that they needed to share their creations with all those who love cupcakes.
